Livingston Park Groundbreaking Party July 12 2008
Sponsored by Port of Long Beach
Special Thanks: Long Beach Mayor Foster, Councilman DeLong, Parks & Recreation, Grunion Gazette and the Long Beach Firefighters.
This is a Community driven project- both in fundraising and design. On November 29 2007 LB Parks & Recreation and the T.L.C. presented our concept for the new Livingston Park Tot Lot at a Community Meeting held at Lowell Elementary School. Councilman DeLong has been very supportive of our efforts to build a beautiful and educational new playground for our Community.
A conceptual drawing of the entire playground can be found by clicking here.
The new entrance at the corner of Livingston and Park will incorporate a 1920's Spanish Colonial Revival style entrance designed by Jeannette Architects of Long Beach.

Playground Construction Update Livingston Park will be closed during renovation.
We are very pleased to report that construction at Livingston Park will begin on August 4. This has been a year in the making, and without the support of the community, we would not have been able to get this project underway so quickly. Like all construction projects, there has been a great deal of time and energy in the planning process, and this Committee wants to make sure the finished project will be something the community will be proud of. During construction, the park will be closed. So, now would be a good time to think about an alternative play area for your children. The contractor has stated that the project should take about three weeks to complete, once construction begins. As the project nears completion, we will advise you of a date for the Grand Opening Ceremony.

The Tot Lot Committee's mission is to enhance the lives and well being of the children of our community by providing them with a safe and fulfilling place to play. We believe that the Belmont Shore Tot Lot should remain a permanent fixture in our community, but be updated to include state of the art play equipment for both toddlers and school age children alike.
We believe in creating a community gathering place for the entire family that will that will foster community interaction. |
